The Story of Wood Creek Construction Ltd.

For as far back as I can remember, I enjoyed building things, most often with wood.  My dad was a carpenter / cabinetmaker, so we had access to a reasonable assortment of tools and scraps of lumber to cut up.  When I have “spare” time, I still generally gravitate to my woodworking shop. I’ve always enjoyed more challenging projects and ones that require a high level of creativity.  I completed my first custom home in 2007 and have been working in the residential construction industry ever since as well as completing a few shops & riding arena’s.  We’ve specifically targeted projects with challenging elements and worked with customers that have high expectations and require a higher than average standard of quality. 

One of the most exciting projects I have undertaken, is to surround myself with a team that can catch my vision and excel in a fast-paced environment; as our building industry is. I’m proud to be a part of the positive-thinking team we have created and look forward to future challenges we can resolve together.            

My favorite projects are ones I can work with from the design stage.  I love to learn to know new people and understand their ways of thinking.  It is important to understand all aspects of a project before design stage. Quite often people will have house designs drawn that don’t work well on their building lot or exceed their budget, etc., thus wasting time and hard-earned resources.   We seek to understand all constraints of a project from inception, in order to save customers headache and use their money wisely. 

The Shuswap area is a challenging place to build. We deal with multiple building authorities with differing regulations and expectations from each one. We deal with many different soil types and a lot of steep, challenging building lots.  Lakefront homes pose a completely new set of regulations to contend with and requirements that must be met.  But, for me, the more challenging the experience, the more rewarding the accomplishment.
